Product Description

This artisan rug you are viewing is an authentic and genuine HAND-KNOTTED/HAND WOVEN piece made from lamb wool.

This rug is NOT MACHINE MADE, nor (so called) hand tufted. It is absolutely hand-knotted by skillful weavers. In most cases, our rugs are custom designed and made by one of our own 250 family weavers in Afghanistan by women in cottage setup.

We import directly from our weaving centers to our warehouse. Therefore, we can, and we do offer warehouse prices for exclusively made artisan one-of-a-kind pieces.

Each one of our rugs is made, finished, washed (see Sheep to Décor/Finishing) with great details and care.

From the threads of the warps to the dyestuffs -washing herbs to knot aligning processes, we use only the best materials for our rugs. The 2 common knot densities; qualities are: 35X40 k/p/dm. & 45X50 k/p/dm. The Average translation of the knot count (Comparable to digital Pixel) 1” 12X12=144X144=20,736 knots in a sq. ft.  or 65,536 knots in higher quality. The professional artisan weavers with years of experience can only tie 4,500 knots a day. I’ll leave the math for the very rug and its craftsmanship.

Unless it’s indicated as an old or antique, it’s a brand-new piece in perfect condition.
